In college planning, admissions, ACT, recruiting sports coaches and many others ask students what major they intend to declare. Often, your high school junior or senior gives a blank stare,
followed by “I don’t know!” This literally happened to co-presenter Juliet Jones 6 months ago with her son, and she is the CEO of career and college major decision expert Career Key!
And yet many parents, school and college counselors do not focus on college majors guidance. Instead, they focus on the choice of college. This can be a costly mistake, as the choice of major and related career are more important than the choice of college to a person’s long-term career and financial well-being – according to Gallup research.
