These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the STEAM in AI website at steaminai.org, our social media applications, and any related tools or services operated by DataEthics4All Foundation ("STEAM in AI," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Our Services
STEAM in AI provides AI education programs, mentorship, and resources for middle and high school students, parents, and independent educational consultants. Our services include, but are not limited to:
- The STEAM in AI Summer Intensive program and related cohort programs
- Live Lab webinars and Inner Circle events
- Educational content published on our website and social media platforms
- Consult booking and enrollment tools
- Our TikTok application ("STEAM in AI Social"), which allows our organization to publish, schedule, and manage content on our official TikTok channel (@steaminaiorg)
2. Our TikTok Application
STEAM in AI operates an application integrated with the TikTok for Developers API ("TikTok App"). This application is an internal business tool used exclusively by STEAM in AI staff and authorized team members to:
- Publish and schedule video content to our official STEAM in AI TikTok account
- Manage organic social media content distribution across our official channels
- Analyze engagement metrics on our posted content
This application is not a consumer-facing product. It is not offered to the general public or third parties. Access is restricted solely to authorized STEAM in AI team members and administrators.
By using this application, authorized users agree to comply with:
- These Terms of Use
- TikTok's Terms of Service and Developer Terms
- All applicable TikTok platform policies and community guidelines
- STEAM in AI's internal content and social media policies
3. TikTok Data Access and Use
Through our TikTok application, we access only the TikTok API permissions necessary to manage our own organizational content. Specifically:
- Content Publishing: We use TikTok API access to post video content to our official @steaminaiorg TikTok account.
- Analytics Access: We may access engagement data (views, likes, shares, comments) on content we have published to our own account.
- No Third-Party Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or process TikTok data from any accounts other than our own official STEAM in AI account.
- No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, license, or share TikTok user data with any third party.
All data accessed through the TikTok API is used solely for the operational management of STEAM in AI's official social media presence.
4. Eligibility and Authorized Use
Our website and general educational content are open to all visitors. Use of the TikTok application is restricted to STEAM in AI authorized staff only. You may not:
- Use our services to post content that violates TikTok's community guidelines or applicable law
- Access or attempt to access any TikTok accounts or data other than STEAM in AI's own official accounts
- Use our application to engage in spam, harassment, misinformation, or any unauthorized commercial activity
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from any of our tools or integrations
5. Intellectual Property
All content on steaminai.org — including text, graphics, video clips, student project materials, logo, and curriculum — is owned by DataEthics4All Foundation or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
Student project work shared with STEAM in AI's permission (e.g., in Live Lab recordings or testimonials) remains the intellectual property of the respective student, used with consent for educational and promotional purposes.
6. User Conduct on Our Website and Social Channels
When interacting with STEAM in AI through our website, email, or social media channels, you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate any individual or organization
- Transmit spam, phishing, or unsolicited commercial communications
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
- Post or transmit any content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or harmful to minors
7. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
We are committed to the privacy and safety of minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
8. Third-Party Platforms and Services
Our services integrate with third-party platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Calendly, HubSpot, and Zoom. Your use of these platforms is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
STEAM in AI's services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. Educational outcomes, including college admissions results, depend on many individual factors and cannot be guaranteed.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DataEthics4All Foundation and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DataEthics4All Foundation, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of our services.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in California.
