Free AI Ethics Workshops and STEAM in AI Challenges for Elementary, Middle, High Schools, Colleges and Nonprofits Nationwide
Our Mission is to Raise the Next Generation of Ethics 1st Data + AI Skilled Workforce!!
Empowering the Next Generation
In the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI), the conversation around ethics, responsibility, and societal impact is becoming increasingly crucial.
As we navigate this new frontier, the importance of educating our young minds on these topics cannot be overstated.
This is where the pioneering initiative by STEAM in AI steps in, offering an unparalleled opportunity for middle and high schools across the nation to delve into the world of AI ethics through free workshops, engaging challenges, and the chance to hear from a leading expert in the field.
A Unique Educational Opportunity
STEAM in AI, a visionary organization at the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) and artificial intelligence, has launched an initiative designed to inspire and educate students about the ethical dimensions of AI technology.
This initiative includes free AI Ethics Workshops and the STEAM in AI Challenge, accessible to Middle and High schools nationwide. We’re also working on bringing this for Elementary students.
STEAM in AI Challenges (Previously called Ethics 1st Data + AI Challenges) by DataEthics4All Foundation are innovative Challenges designed for middle and high school students, focused on introducing them to the world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its ethical implications without learning how to code.
AI Ethics Workshops
The highlight of this initiative is the AI Ethics Workshop, where students will have the rare opportunity to hear from a former Stanford Adjunct Faculty member who is a thought leader in AI ethics.
This workshop aims to introduce students to the complex ethical considerations surrounding AI technologies, fostering a deep understanding of how these technologies can be developed and used responsibly.
STEAM in AI Challenge
Following the workshop, students will have the chance to apply their newly acquired knowledge in the STEAM in AI Challenge.
This challenge encourages them to work collaboratively on projects that intersect AI technology with ethical considerations, pushing the boundaries of innovation while remaining grounded in ethical principles.
Benefits for Participants
Participants in the STEAM in AI initiative will not only gain invaluable insights into AI ethics but will also enjoy several tangible benefits:
- Earn Volunteer Hours: Students will receive volunteer hours for their participation, recognizing their commitment to learning and ethical engagement.
- Presidential Volunteer Service Award: Earned Volunteer Hours may be accrued towards the PVSA and for continued learning as DataEthics4All Foundation is a PVSA Certifying Organization. (Eligibility) ( PVSA is a program of AmeriCorps managed by Points of Light)
- Certificate of Participation: Each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Participation, marking their involvement in this forward-thinking initiative.
- Opportunity to Win: Teams presenting will have an opportunity to win.
Call to Action for Schools
This initiative represents a unique opportunity for schools to enrich their curriculum, offering students a chance to engage with cutting-edge topics in AI and ethics. Schools nationwide are invited to seize this opportunity and request the STEAM in AI team to bring this talk, workshop, and challenge to their students.
By participating, schools can provide their students with a platform to explore the ethical implications of AI, encourage critical thinking, and inspire the next generation of ethical AI innovators.
